Article No.: 39 Author: Rob Lucas

Ever wondered if you could track and trace your notebooks whereabouts? This author has hopefully found the answer with the “Where am I...?” tool codenamed whami...

Where am I...? (or whami for short) is a research project into whether a typical consumer can use their laptop anywhere in the world and have its location tracked using the geographical location of wireless access points (AP)

However for it to fully work it needs you...

Through user participation in using their laptop in cafes, public libraries, hotels in fact anywhere in the world where you can access the internet (both private and public), you can help the Where am I...? system learn the geographical location of Wifi hotspots and help map the whereabouts of your mobile technology.

You can learn more by visiting the website.

If you want to help map the wifi world and want to use the software (which is FREE) please go to the website and click Download from the side menu.
